This policy explains how Celeste Eye Wear looks after personal information when you visit the Celeste website or reserve a frame ahead of our first run. We keep this short, plain, and honest. If anything here is unclear, write to us at hello@celeste.fashion and we will explain it.
Who we are

What we collect
We only collect what we need.
When you reserve a frame on our website, we ask for:
- Your name.
- Your email address.
- The frame you would like to reserve.
When you visit our website, we automatically receive:
- Standard technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you view, and the site that referred you to us.
- Cookie and similar tracking information, where you have given consent. The detail is in our Cookie Policy
We do not collect payment information. No payment is taken at the reservation stage.
Why we collect it, and the legal basis
Under UK GDPR, we need a lawful reason to use your personal information. Here is what we do and why.
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| To hold your reservation, and contact you once when the first run opens. | Performance of pre-contractual steps at your request. |
| To send you the launch announcement, and only if you have agreed, occasional updates about Celeste. | Consent. |
| To understand how our site is used and improve it. | Consent (analytics cookies) and legitimate interest. |
| To run advertising on Instagram and Facebook, and to measure how it performs. | Consent. |
| To build advertising audiences on Meta from our reservation list, if we choose to do so in future. | Consent. We will ask you again, specifically, before doing this. |
| To meet legal, tax, or regulatory obligations. | Legal obligation. |
You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect anything we did lawfully before.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the brand. Each one is bound by contract to handle your data securely and only for the purpose we instruct.
| Provider | What they do | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Intuit Inc. (Mailchimp) | Stores reservations and sends launch and update emails. | EU and US |
| Meta Platforms Ireland | Delivers Celeste advertising on Instagram and Facebook, and measures performance, where you have consented. This includes the Meta Pixel on our website, and may include server-side measurement through the Meta Conversions API in future, under the same consent. | EU and US |
| Vercel Inc. | Hosts the website and keeps it online. | EU and US |
| Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics 4) | Helps us understand how the site is used, where you have consented to analytics cookies. IP addresses are truncated and no advertising signals are shared. | EU and US |
Custom Audiences and similar audiences. If we choose to in future, we may upload your email address to Meta so that we can show you Celeste on Instagram and Facebook, and find new people who may be interested in Celeste. We will not do this until we have asked you for separate, specific permission. You can opt out of this at any time by writing to hello@celeste.fashion
Where we transfer your information outside the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision, as applicable.
Profiling and automated decisions
When you accept marketing cookies, the Meta Pixel groups your browser with other browsers that have shown similar interest in Celeste, so that Meta can show you our advertising on Instagram and Facebook. This is a form of profiling for advertising.
We do not use this profiling, or any other automated process, to make decisions about you that have a legal or similarly significant effect. We do not set prices, refuse service, or take other meaningful decisions automatically.
You can object to this profiling at any time by clearing the cookies for this site in your browser and withdrawing consent for marketing cookies when the banner reappears, or by writing to hello@celeste.fashion
How long we keep it
- Reservation data: until twelve months after the first run opens. After that, we delete or anonymise it, unless you have asked to remain on our list.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep a minimal suppression record so we do not contact you again.
- Cookies: see our Cookie Policy for individual cookie lifetimes.
- Legal or tax records: as long as required by UK law.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information.
- Restrict or object to how we use it.
